Kadai Gosht
Indian lamb curry
Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons oil
- 1 pound mutton, cubed
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 4 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 green chili, julienned
- 1 small piece of ginger, julienned
- 3 sprigs cilantro, chopped
- 3 sprigs mint, chopped
- 1/2 cup whole milk yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon kadai masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt to taste
Directions
Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the mutton and cook until browned on all sides.
Season with turmeric and salt, then add the onions and tomatoes. Cook, covered, over medium heat until the mutton is cooked and the onions and tomatoes have broken down, at least 40 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients and stir through. Return to a boil and simmer until the curry takes on the desired consistency.
